Piano, Saxophone & Clarinet
Myra holds a bachelor of music education degree from Arkansas State University. She has taught choral and instrumental music on all levels of education in both public and private settings. Locally, Mrs. Johnson has taught at Blue Lake Academy and Fruitland Park Elementary. She teaches piano and woodwind instruments.
Guitar, Banjo, Violin, Piano, Mandolin, Steel Guitar & Ukulele
Alan Brandel began his musical journey at the age of 8 with the Ukulele. Soon after, he took up guitar and violin. In High school, he began teaching Music Lessons and traveling with a gospel band. In 2001 Alan graduated with his Doctorate degree from Luther Rice University. Since this time, along with teaching, Alan has played in a number of bands, churches, and events. In 2011 he was brought on to Disney's Polynesian Show. Alan continues to share his love of stringed instruments with all ages, through teaching!
Guitar & Bass
Raymond Johnson is a former band director, choir director, music teacher and minister of music. He has taught private lessons on several instruments locally, at First Academy, Blue Lake Academy, Daystar Academy, St. Paul's Catholic School and ABC Music. He has a Master of music education from Arkansas state university.
Piano & Guitar
Nathan Jay Leslie is a local musical artist and instructor who’s lived and performed all over Central Florida for over 20 years. He studied classical piano from age 5 and has expanded to all styles and genres of music. Nathan is also an accomplished guitar player. Nathan writes and performs all types of music.
Drums & Trumpet
Tim Howard, originally from Alabama, attended UAB and Jacksonville State University in Alabama, playing trumpet and drums in college. He was a drummer at Opryland Nashville. He now sings and plays drums professionally with his band SuperStatic. We are happy to have Tim teaching drums at Leesburg Music.
Trumpet, Saxophone & Flute
Jaime joins the Leesburg Music staff from working several years in music stores in the area. He studied music in college and has been teaching for over 35 years. Jaime plays locally in a jazz group. He plays and teaches trumpet, saxophone and flute.
Drums
Chris has more than 30 years of experience playing drums in both live and studio settings, and has bbeen teaching privately for the last 5 years. Originally from New Bedford, MA, he studied jazz drumming with the late Bobby Carreiro, spending more than 20 years recording and touring with several bands in the New England metal and hardcore music scenes.
Guitar & Bass
Evan has been playing and teaching guitar since 2015. He was teaching in Michigan and then took a gig on Celebrity Cruises for 5 years. He is familiar with several genres and can teach all levels. Evan teaches both guitar and bass guitar.
Drums & Guitar
Chandler has always had a strong passion for music that he translates into his playing. He doesn't remember a time in his life where he was no drumming. Chandler has got a strong history with gospel/CCM , and loves to teach. Reach out to the store about his availability!
Guitar & Piano
William has been playing guitar for 4 years and has excelled beyond his years as a player. He first enrolled with Leesburg Music 3 years ago and has passed through the guitar ranks and proven himself as a well-established guitar player. He is broadening his musical range by taking on Piano and is excelling well enough to take beginner students!
Piano
Richard D Cross has worked as a Board Certified Music Therapist with the Detroit Public Schools Community District since 1987. He serviced severely emotionally impaired children and adolescents in a day treatment setting at Turning Point Academy. He also provided music therapy services in a residential treatment setting at Christ Child House, also located in Detroit, MI. Richard received a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Studies, a Post Bachelor in Music Therapy, and a Master's Degree in Elementary Teaching from Wayne
State University.
Voice
Lillian is from Mt. Dora, Florida and graduated from the University of North Florida focusing on Musical Theatre. She's had many vocal opportunities from high school and college choir, local theatre productions, and the Lady of the Lakes Renaissance Faire. She currently teaches music at Treadway Elementary, and coaches various vocal styles.
Guitar
Michael was born and raised in New England and came to Florida in 2008. He is 31 years old and has been playing guitar since the age of 13. He studied music at Eastern Florida Sate College in Cocoa. He hopes to inspire others to put in the same hard work that he does in his music. He specializes in Rock and Metal music but plays and teaches a variety of styles. He teaches various techniques on guitar including; finger picking, hybrid picking, sweep picking, alternate and economy picking, legato, string skipping, and 2 hand tapping. He tries to make guitar playing as efficient as possible, utilizing the concept of economy of motion.
Voice, Guitar, Bass & Music Theory
Dr. Richard Repp holds a Ph.D. in music from University of Illinois at Champagne/Urbana in Music Education and Master of Music Performance (Voice). He has been teaching since 1990, including the university setting. As a guitarist, he maintains the much acclaimed Pattern Obsession website and Youtube channel. He performs regularly with the Opera Orlando and other local venues. He teaches voice in classical and popular styles, and teaches guitar in rock, pop, folk, and country styles. locally, at First Academy, Blue Lake Academy, Daystar Academy, St. Paul’s Catholic School and ABC Music.
